On the road again

Well it’s that time of the year again were I pack up my bike and all most of my belongings and hit the road, this time to America for Five races in Seven weeks. One thing I like about America is it’s just a direct flight (San Francisco) and your there, the travel doesn’t really knock you around and you are able to adjust to the time change relatively quickly.

I love the fact that I am getting out of the cold weather and into a warmer climate mind you to be fair it hasn’t been that bad, maybe it’s the fact that I don’t own any winter cycling gear and am trying to convince myself that the weather isn’t that cold.

Other than some frosty mornings making getting out the door a little slower, everything has been pretty well. With Cairns not going quite the way I planned I have been able to refocus and put in some good sessions across the three disciplines so am confident that things will go well over the next few weeks.

So today I head to Eugene Oregon via San Francisco to stay with one of my sponsors of Rolf Wheels from there we will head up to Portland to race in the Rev3 Portland Half Ironman. This event is a new one to the Rev3 series and due to a course change a couple of weeks ago is now flat and fast, maybe a good event to get back into racing mode. As usual there are some classy athletes and a strong presence of New Zealand athletes competing, which hopefully like the weekend in Korea we can make a Kiwi clean sweep!

I am sure there will be race coverage on the race website www.rev3tri.com where you can follow my progress.

Will keep you posted!

Congrats on the win Graham. Looked like it was a tight race, going on the finish times.
